Get to know the Marcus app

Welcome to the Marcus app! If you haven’t downloaded the app already, it's available on the App Store now or Google Play now.

Once you have the app downloaded to your device, this page will show you how to get started, and walk you through everything you can do including:

Setting up the app

Open the app on your device. You’ll be shown a login screen: enter your email address and the password you use for your online account, then follow the on-screen instructions to verify your device.

If your device supports it, you’ll then be asked whether you’d like to use facial or fingerprint recognition to access the app in future.

Navigating the app

Log into the Marcus app quickly and securely with just a touch or glance using fingerprint or facial recognition. You can also log in with the email address and password you use to access your Marcus account online.

The app has a simple navigation so you can conveniently access your accounts and profile details with just a few taps:

How to log out

Tap on the profile icon, then ‘log out’ at the top of your screen. 

Viewing your savings

From the home screen, or from the £ tab, tap on the savings account you want to view. Tap or swipe to your right on the chart to get a view of your savings history over time – the app will show you your balance over a year, or over the last three months.

Below the chart, you can see your account details, including your available balance and the current interest rate on your account. Tapping ‘See more’ will show you your sort code, account number and pay in limit.

Then, scroll down to see your recent transactions, including money you’ve added or withdrawn and interest you’ve earned.

Finding your bank statement

If you’re looking for an annual statement, tap on the three dots in the top right hand corner of the screen, then select ‘view documents’. This will take you to your secure document area, where you can view and download statements, tax certificates, and other important documents about your accounts.

Moving your money

From your account view, tap on the ‘Move your money’ button at the bottom of the screen. Choose which account you’d like to withdraw from – you can move money between accounts, or make a withdrawal to your linked account.

Top tip

You can change the name of your accounts whenever you like. Go to the account you’d like to rename, then tap the pencil icon next your account name. 

Updating your profile

Edit your personal details

You can update your personal details by navigating to the profile tab, and choosing ‘Contact information’ then ‘Edit profile’. From there, you’ll be able to change your contact info and manage your marketing preferences.

Change your linked account

If you want to change your linked account, you can also do this from the profile tab. Just tap on ‘Linked account’, then choose ‘Change linked account’ from the drop-down menu and follow the on-screen instructions.

Update your security settings

To change your password, go to ‘Security settings’ and then ‘Change password’. You can also choose to turn facial or fingerprint recognition on and off from the security settings screen.

Finding documents and FAQs

Tap on the profile icon, then ‘Documents’ to view or download copies of your important documents.

From the profile tab, you can also tap ‘Help and support’ to find answers to frequently asked questions, or see copies of your terms and conditions in the ‘Privacy and legal’ area.
